Former home to the PGA Grand Slam of Golf

Adjacent to the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa on the sunny south shore of Kauai, this outstanding course is backed by lush emerald mountains and sculpted from a rolling plateau eight stories above the Pacific Ocean. Nestled among the gentle contours of Poipu Bay you’ll discover the remains of Hawaiian heiau (places of worship) and ancient stone walls. If this weren’t challenge enough, Mother Nature presents you with one distraction after another. From rare Hawaiian monk seals, green sea turtles, and humpback whales, you’ll have lots of wild excuses to back your scorecard. Plus, Poipu Bay is home to Nene Geese which are endemic to Hawaii, and not encountered anywhere else in the world outside of their native environment.

Reviews

Poipu Bay Golf Course nestles between the Haupu Mountain and the azure Pacific Ocean on the island of Kauai, the oldest and fourth largest of the Hawaiian Islands. This 18-hole championship course occupies 210 oceanfront acres, with many stunning views and a stretch of directly oceanside holes to enjoy.
Really enjoyed this course. Fairways, Greens, bunkers and tee boxes in great shape. Each of the holes were memorable and the views of the bay are incredible. The white tees played pretty easy as the fairways are receptive with large landing areas. I'm a 14 so going back one more would have been more challenging.
One of the best we have played anywhere in the world, no housing estates on the course to detract from the experience.Highly recommended, pity clubhouse was being refurbished otherwise one of my best experiences ever, Pebble Beach still my all time favourite, Poipu a close second.
