Meandering among sweeping sand dunes along 17-Mile Drive, The Links at Spanish Bay unveils some of the most spectacular seaside views in Pebble Beach. The rolling fairways gently flow through and around the gorgeous dunescape, briefly weaving between towering Monterey Pines, before returning to the white sand of Spanish Bay Beach for a thrilling finish along the coast. Robert Trent Jones, Jr. teamed up with five-time British Open Champion Tom Watson and former USGA President Frank “Sandy” Tatum to create The Links at Spanish Bay — a links-style golf course that snakes through restored sand dunes. The project was one of the most extensive and ambitious programs ever designed to blend public access, recreation and environmental habitat restoration.

Reviews

Of the pebble properties, this is the most visually dramatic. Almost every hole save a few on back nine have an amazing view of the pacific framed by dunes and gnarled red brush that makes you pause and appreciate the setting.
If you just rank the courses by beauty, this is the winner of the public’s and challenges Monterey Country Club and Cypress next door.
We golfed Spanish Bay, Spy Glass and Pebble Beach during our stay. I gotta say...out of the 3... this course by far had the best views and toughest greens.
